Innocence – Dean Koontz

Not one of his that I knew about until I recently found this copy of it at a boot sale and luckily it’s one of the Paperback editions that I’m collecting of his…

“Addison Goodheart is not like other people. He lives in solitude beneath the city, an exile from a society that will destroy him if he’s ever seen. Books are his refuge and his escape and, through a network of storm drains and service tunnels he makes his way into the central library. That is where he meets Gwyneth, who, like Addison, hides her true appearance and struggles to trust anyone. Destiny, or maybe just something more than Chance has bought them together in a world whose hour of reckoning is fast approaching”

This is Good. Thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the better ones of his later novels that I’ve read as it, or rather Addison and Gwyneth, took me on a totally different journey than I’d expected, becoming more of a page turner the further I got into it. It’s more of a thriller than a horror though it has horrific parts in it they’re very few but it’s one of his that I’d Highly Recommend 😷😎👍🏻

Vastly Intriguing!

DeadHead – Shaun Hutson

I’ve heard a few reviews of this author, both good and bad so I started picking up his books when I could find them but I hadn’t read any of them until this one, the most recent one I got and it’s pretty good. It’s not horror as such, more of a crime novel though it’s very horrific in parts!

“A sickening series of murders in London have left five homeless kids mutilated and the city is in shock. Former Police Officer turned Private Detective Nick Ryan has seen the reports but it’s not his problem. Nobody is paying him to find the killer so he doesn’t care, in fact since his wife and daughter left him he hasn’t cared about much, least of all himself but suddenly there’s another victim. She’s not homeless and so far she’s not dead but when Nick sees a videotape of his own daughter being abused by her male captors he begins a desperate, obsessive hunt for her and he will stop at nothing. He can’t, Time is running out for both of them”

A Thrilling Pageturner!

Imaginary Friend – Stephen Chbosky

I’ve gotten through most of this chunker of a book (almost 850 pages) but my copy got packed away during our recent move and currently lies in one of the many boxes yet to be unpacked but luckily enough I found this paperback copy today for only £1.00, imagine that?! Gonna get back to finish it soon (Hopefully) coz it is very good.

“Christopher Reese has been through a lot by the age of seven, he will go through much more before he turns eight. His Mother Kate only ever wanted to protect him, to do that she will have to do more than she ever imagined. Their new home in the town of Mill Grove, Pennsylvania is ordinary, sleepy and isolated, perfect for what is about to happen. Something that will deeply mark everyone in the town, even the local sheriff. Something which no one can explain but everyone can feel. Something that will change everything…”

“Haunting, Thrilling…”

Surface – AppleTV series

This is Really Good!! I binge watched the first six episodes and am now waiting for episode 7 to be aired and it’s much better than I expected to be.

“After suffering a traumatic head injury that leaves her with serious memory loss issues, Sophia embarks on a quest to piece her life back together. However, she soon realises that the people who are helping her may not have her best interests in mind”

Very Good😎👍🏻

My Heart is a Chainsaw – Stephen Graham Jones

“A Tale that will terrify you and break your heart all at the same time” Ive been after this one for a while having heard so many good reviews of it and finally managed to get it for a bargain price from eBay.

“Some girls just don’t know how to die!”

This is Ok at best. To some it’s probably Very Good, to others it’s probably awesome. I think it depends on how big of a slasher movie fan you are so for me it’s the former coz there’s too much informative material to fully enjoy the story. Just when you think “Ah, here we go. Back on track” it takes you away from the story again which, being perfectly honest, is very basic and I thought the ending was pretty shit.

“Jennifer Daniels, though she prefers to be called Jade, is a seventeen year old half Indian outcast living in Proofock, a town that wants very little to do with her. She has no real friends, she lives with her alcoholic Father, she has an absent mother but she is the town’s biggest slasher movies fan and becomes convinced that one is happening right on her doorstep but, with her unstable family life working against her, will anyone actually believe her or is she just overly obsessed with the town’s legendary history?”

Frantic & Gory!
