Daisy Darker – Alice Feeney

“All consuming. Spectacular Twist. A Clever, compounding and delicious thriller!”

“The Darker family are in Cornwall, isolated on their private island, cut off from the rest of the world unbeknownst that one of them, a member of their own family, is a killer. Daisy Darker has never had an easy relationship with her family but now, as she’s soon to find out, each one of them has secrets, some darker than others and this family gathering will be one that not all the family will remember!”

It’s Okay. Not brilliant but pretty good. The ending is predictable if you’ve read enough thrillers though some people might not see it until it’s been revealed. Will I read more of this authors work? Probably. I’ll certainly be looking out for them now😎👍🏻

Psychological Thriller!

Gallows Hill – Darcy Coates

This is my Debut from this author, one I’ve heard such good things about so thought Twas about time I gave her a shot. This sounds like your typical Haunted House story so, we’ll see, as I pay a visit to Gallows Hill…

Very Tedious, boring… Monotonous!! Just over one third in and already bored shitless!

ONE HUGE DNF!!

The Buried – Sharon Bolton

I Love her books. They are Awesome! If you haven’t yet read owt by Sharon Bolton, I strongly recommend that you do… NOW!!!

This is the sequel to “The Craftsman” where… “Thirty years after the heinous crimes of funeral director Larry Glassbrook, he’s about to perish in jail but just around the same time, decomposing children’s bones are discovered in the grounds of Black Moss Manor during a random water pipe renovation. Larry’s daughter Cassie and 1960’s investigating officer Florence Lovelady are both drawn back to the town of Sabden to investigate the former children’s home, thought to have been closed down soon after Larry’s arrest but both are still haunted by the terror of years gone by and can the secrets of the town stay buried?”

Obviously this is Very Good, most of her books are and it answers a lot of questions that were left after it’s predecessor The Craftsman, however… Some things are left unanswered (won’t say what in case you’ve not read thee yet) and am hoping there will be a third book in this series.

Eli’s Town – Amy Cross

A recent recommendation from kindle. A book I’ve never heard of. An author I’d not heard about but it’s pretty short so I’ve paid a quick visit. Yeah, it’s not bad, far from the best but it’s an enjoyable novella none the less. “Eli Denton, the family outcast, the weird uncle remains living in the town of Tupela years after the rest of the family moved away and he has been almost forgotten. His sister and her two daughters, Holly and Karen, agreed to take turns to visit Uncle Eli to check on him and his well being but, unbeknown to Holly, nobody has bothered for six years when her turn arrives so she sets straight off to put things right. She soon finds out that the town of Tupela isn’t as she remembers, something just isn’t right, something strange has happened here and her Uncle Eli’s house appears to be deserted…”

Sundown Motel – Simone St James

Being a fan of motel/hotel horror this one was on my TBR list for quite some time but was never able to obtain a copy until recently when it was on offer with amazon kindle for 99p so I paid a very instant visit to the Sundown Motel and I wasn’t disappointed.

Carly Kirk has always been left in the dark about her auntie Vivian Delaney who went missing thirty five years ago whilst she was working the night shift at the Sundown Motel and, after her mother’s recent death, she decides to quit college and investigate her auntie’s disappearance…

This is So Good, I don’t wanna say any more except “You have to read this!”

Awesome Thriller👍🏻

Hidden Pictures – Jason Rekulak

“Every house has its secret. The Boldest Double Twist of the Year!”

With a tagline like that this seems to be a must read so, without even searching for any reviews of this recent thriller and only 99p on kindle, I’m just gonna get straight into it, intrigued to find out exactly what secrets are being hidden….

“Mallory is 18 months clean after a spell in rehab and her sponsor/coach Russell has put her forward for a part time nanny position and, though she’s very reluctant to re-integrate with society, she agrees to attend the interview. Upon meeting Teddy, the five year old son of Ted and Caroline Maxwell, Mallory feels an instant need towards the child and though Ted is dead set against employing a former addict, Caroline persuades him that she’s definitely right for the Nanny job. All goes well between Mallory and Teddy until he starts giving her drawings, dark, scary drawings that no five year old should be producing yet Mallory is insistent on investigating where these drawings originated from”

Intriguing Thriller

Injustice – Tv series

Binge watched this recently it’s so good. Legal whizz William Travers, known to have lost very few cases, is requested to help a former university friend of his whom he’s not heard of for twenty years but this is a murder defence and Will has stayed away from Murder cases for a number of years after the traumatic events that followed his last one. Martin Newell stands accused of murdering his secretary after her body was found in a hotel bedroom but he swears his innocence and, as a favour to his old university friend, Will reluctantly decides to take on the case but to the detriment of whom?!!

Slasher Ripper (Tv series)

Just started watching this new series, a re-telling of the infamous ripper story but with an added twist which some might say makes this more enjoyable. It’s on Shudder, a subscription channel of Amazon Prime Tv but which currently has a 30 day free trial and is certainly worth taking up if just to watch this.

Almost finished it now. Can safely say that, this series is Damn Good. Tis Very Good in fact. You’d be mad to pass this one up.

Chilling!

Sherlock Holmes and the Servants of Hell – Paul Kane

Set in Clive Barker’s Hellraising world, the world’s greatest detective meets horror’s most notorious villains. It’s late 1895, Holmes and Watson are called upon to investigate a missing persons case and it could be a mystery that Holmes will relish, the person in question vanished from a locked room but, this is just the start. This investigation will draw Holmes and Watson into contact with a shadowy organisation known only as The Order of the Gash.

Elementary? Not Quite…
