The Intruders – Louise Jensen

“They were told to leave…”

“They should’ve listened…”

This is my debut read from this author, an expected haunted house novel that sounds so good that I had to try it but, WOW! What a mind Fcuk of a thriller! A haunted house novel this is not. Cass and James move into Newington House as live in caretakers to assist a local estate agency who are having difficulty in selling the property. Both Cass and James have feelings of deja vu about the house but as it’s their first home together of any kind they’re willing to give things a go but Cass soon wishes that they hadn’t.

The Fake Wife – Sharon Bolton

I’ve loved everything this author has written so getting this was a total “No Brainer” Tis Absolutely Awesome!!

“You’re not who you say you are, but neither is she” Olive Anderson, wife of MP Michael Anderson suddenly goes missing but she’s not the first. Michael’s mother in law Gwen, from his previous marriage to Eloise, knows there are secrets but maybe not how deep they run and do either of them really know who Olive is?

Full of Twists!

Brilliant! Another Anthology Masterclass from The Master of Horror.

Only a couple weaker inclusions IMO “Laurie” and “Finn” are pretty disappointing but the rest are all Good or Very Good. “Rattlesnakes is my favourite, which is a sequel of sorts to Cujo, Two Talented Bastids and Danny Coughlin’s Bad Dream are probably the other two strongest stories.

The Master of Horror😎👍🏻

Dead of Winter -P J Parrish

“Revenge is a dish best served cold!”

Officer Louis Kincaid is looking for a refuge and thinks he’s found just the place, Loon Lake, in the stark serenity of the Michigan wilderness but behind the scenic facade of pines and gingerbread lurks a killer taking his vengeance. Bodies of local policemen start turning up, each with a playing card by their side and Kincaid seems to be another pawn in this killer’s plan but, in the hands of a master, the endgame has many outcomes.

Suspenseful, Intriguing…
